Maintains the safety and security of the entire campus community and protects all University property.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. (Associate's degree and two years experience in public service or public safety, or high school diploma or GED and four years related experience may be considered.) Formal training in law enforcement, safety and security (on-the-job training may be considered). Ability to satisfactorily pass a suitability background investigation, physical examination, and drug screening within the first six months of employment. Possession of a DC Metropolitan Police Commission or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment. Valid driver's license required. Candidate selected for an interview must submit a copy of their current driver's license at time of interview. Must be able to be contacted by telephone. Willingness to work varying days and shifts as well as holidays and weekends. Excellent references required. In accordance with University policy and the laws of the District of Columbia and/or licensing bodies, employees in positions involving public safety may be periodically tested for the use of illicit drugs. Sign language skills or the successful completion of at least two progressive courses in sign language in the first year of employment and the ability to sign and read 300 law enforcement and related signs.
Salary/Compensation:
$14.66 to $26.35 per hour
